Hi,
I have recently purchased the encore viewer software and card reader.
All works o.k.And I can understand a lot of the data but some of it like 90% of time etc I do not understand .
I have looked for a posting on this and did not find but if I have missed it could someone please point me to it.
If not could somebody translate it into plain English

many thanks Joe

I would also like some help, especially understanding the Vibratory Snore daily events per hour data - it doesn't seems to make sense.
Thanks
Susan
I have a basic data tutorial on my blog, here.

I personally think the PR machines overscore vibratory snores, so I wouldn't worry about them too much. My husband does not detect any real snoring during the night, though I do occasionally still snore lightly when starting to wake up in the morning with the machine on.

What you need to focus on is AHI's. If those are good, don't worry about the VS at all. I have excellent AHI's, despite fairly high VS scoring.
Thanks Janknitz
Your blog was very useful to look at. I am still perplexed by my VS daily events and while I don't doubt that I do snore I don't think I can be this bad! My overall AHI for the night was 0.2 and my overall VS Index for the night was 26.7 - seems like good results?
My pressure is set from 8 - 18. Last night it was 90% = 16.3 and Average CPAP pressure = 14.3

For example: (just a few facts from last night)
Pressure = 7 MAP = 0.3 VS = 960.0
Pressure = 8 MAP = 9.6 VS = 62.7
Pressure = 9 MAP = 2.8 VS = 325.3
Pressure = 10 MAP = 2.6 VS = 550.3
Pressure = 11 MAP = 2.6 VS = 779.6

Any insight would be appreciated
Susan
Thanks Janknitz,
Your blog was very helpful.
My average A.H.I was 3.6 and is now 2.0. but would like to have any tips to try and improve this.
Some of my older posts referred to my ear problems and variations on pressure, so I have tried to limit it and have set it now at 10-15 as my main A.H.I seems to be around 12.
As Susan says any further help on what these readings we should try to achieve would be very helpful.

Many Thanks Joe
Joe, you really need to look at the charts as a whole, and look at several nights of high AHI's.

Any way you can post a typical night or two of "Daily Events" here?

I don't think I'd be focusing on VS--if your AHI is too high, you need to look at what might be precipitating the events (apneas, hypopneas, and centrals), and whether there is a signficant amount of periodic breathing.

Those VS scores are low--mine are in the 20's to 50's some nights! Don't let those VS scores cause you to overthink this.

I'm a little confused by your post, but I think your average AHI is around 2.0? If that's so, how do you feel? An AHI of 2.0 is perfectly good as long as you are feeling well. Sometimes people get really wrapped up in the data instead of how they feel. If you are feeling good at 2.0, then nothing's "broke", so don't fix it.
Hi Janknitz,
Tried to copy and past but figures misaligned so typed it out. Hope you can understand it o.k.
You will see i have tried various pressure settings and added the highest and lowest AHI results between 16 sept and 26 sept.
Any help or advice will help and i am sure others will view with interest for them.
I have been using a/pap every night all night for 1 year and do feel better for using it but still have many of the symptoms and so trying to improve it.
Was advised that the varying pressures could affect my hearing problems, so tried to cut this down while still letting the a/pap do it's job.

Many thanks Joe
