After several months of strictly complying to using my respironics bipap and swift 2 for women mask, I was seeing real progress in how I was feeling.  My energy level was way up etc.

Then, all of a sudden, I have lost ground and now feel like I need a daily afternoon nap in order to get through the day.  No changes in mask, bed, machine, settings etc...

(I posted earlier today about how some of the data is missing from my encore pro card reader system.)

What causes this kind of regression to happen and how do I get back on track to feeling better.

For the record, I am not currently at my primary residence and will be calling my doctor to see if it makes sense to send him my data card...just looking for some additional advice from the folks on here.

Thanks
Jan

Jan, we change. If nothing else has changed (since you are able to read the leak, AHI, and AI data from your machine) it might be time for a call to the DME or Doc. After 23 months I still take medicine for daytime sleepiness. It could be that simple.
How do you feel in the morning, alert and well rested?

Good Luck,
Mary Z.
I was feeling pretty good/rested until about a week or two ago....then just pretty much "overnight" I'm back to feeling crummy again. I mostly feel the tiredness in the afternoon in the last week-- before that I was able to get through the day/night without longing for a nap. I'm now feeling as if I've almost regressed to pre-xpap days in terms of my daytime energy level.

Were you out of town when this feeling came on. Most of us sleep better at home.

I'm in a second home and have been here for several months.
it is possible that the change in environment could be your culprit.
I didn't see your other post - but - the Respironics M Series is notorious for dropping data one or two nights a month. I don' t know if Respironics was able to "fix" the problem in the later models before the SystemOnes came out or not. Respironics was made aware of the problem BY MANY USERS altho Respironics always denied being aware of it.
I have a new card-- maybe I will try that. Thanks...and waiting for their new machines to feature user software :-(
