After being sick for the past week, I am going to try the cpap again tonight. I got sick 2 days into starting my treatment. My chin-up strips have arrived so will try those too with the ResMed nasal pillows mask-the one made for women. Wish me luck-I really want this to work as I have been diagnosed with severe OSA (score of 37).

Good luck Carolyn. I started CPAP about 5 ish weeks ago and thankfully haven't been sick during that period. Despite having both the regular and swine flu shots, I really "feel" something coming on....starting to get congested etc. Am hoping that I don't get so congested that I can't use my cpap...am using the same nasal pillows are you are.
Wishing you luck and glad that you are feeling better.

exciting times for you, Carolyn. you're about to engage in a treatment that, if successful, can improve your life in so many ways. I wish you the best of luck. Let us know how it goes.
sticktuitiveness is definetly a key,, make sure not getting too much moisture or not enough while on the mask. its grest once you have been on the treatment for a while..life is definetley better! good luck

Patience, Perseverence and a Good Sense of Humor will get you thru the acclimation period - along w/us here in the forum to help w/any problems that might arise.
Hope you have success and are able to get a good night's sleep. It isn't any fun when you are sick.
It does get easier, although it takes time.
I don't know about you, but I want things yesterday and am not very patient. Remember a baby doesn't learn to walk in a day, so be good to yourself, pamper yourself some, and know that it will get better.
