I use a Respironics comfort gel nose mask. When I put it on at night all of a sudden my nose feels stuffy and its harder to breath through it. I've switched from a small mask to a medium and that seemed to help a little. I try to adjust my mask so that it lightly covers my face around my nose with only enough pressure to stop the leaks, but its still hard to breath. When I started CPAP I used with the nose pillows but I found them uncomfortable.

Is there another brand of mask that might help? Will I need to switch to a mask that covers my nose and mouth?

If I really need to sleep comfortably I use nasal decongestant and I know that isn’t much of a solution.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This might be a humidity issue. I experienced this once when my humidifier was set too high. Then I tried bumping it down a setting or two, and I didn't experience the congestion problems. Give it a shot. it'll be an easy experiment to do with no down side.
