I was wondering if anyone on here who takes Topamax for migraines has noticed an increase in their AHI?  I've only taken two doses of it, but my AHI has doubled.  It's still within a safe/good range, just trying to figure out what has caused it to jump like that.  Opinion from anyone who has had experience with this medication would be appreciated.

Have you noticed an increase in migraines since you started using the CPAP?  I had a horrible experience a couple of months ago with a complicated migraine like I have never had before.  I am sure it was caused by the CPAP because it gives me such sinus problems. I was in the ER twice trying to deal with the migraine, and my doctor told me to discontinue using the CPAP for a while.  I personally never felt it did much anyway but keep me awake adjusting the mask.

No, I haven't had an increase in migraines since I started using my bipap, thank goodness.  I've had migraines for about 15 years and got to the point where I was done having kids and could safely take something to treat them.  Not sure if this is going to work out or not.

I'm really sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with them and that it seems related to your CPAP.  I don't know enough about it to give you any advice on it, except to talk with your sleep doctor.  I can sympathize with your frustration with it keeping you awake instead of helping you sleep though.  I've had my machine for a little over 5 months, but have only been sleeping fairly well with it for the last few weeks.  Prior to that I could only describe it as a nightmare.  I was ready to take a baseball bat to it.  Things have gone almost a complete 180 the last couple of weeks though so I would encourage you to keep trying.  I know it is awful, but the alternative is more so.
