If anyone wants a good overview of the importance of sleep, I recommend The Promise of Sleep, a book written by William C Dement, a Stanford doctor also known as "The Father of Sleep."

I read that book when it first came out. It made me realize I had sleep apnea, so I referred myself to a sleep lab. It's a very good book.

I will definately check it out, as well as Dr. park's book. I am currently finishing up a few books, and research. Some for the job and some for fun. I will need to find something else when these are finished.

glad you're enjoying so far. there's a part later on in the book when he talks about this kid he monitored while the kid was gunning for a world record in sleep deprivation. interesting stuff. i hear the magician David Blaine is getting advice from Dement now as Blaine sets out to to beat that kid for the new world record.
