Oh my gosh, people!  The new Swift FX is fabulous!  I tried it last night.  The pillows are so soft--this might put Ro Ez It out of business.  I can't wear pillows at all because they irritate my nostrils way too much, and usually I can't keep the headgear on.  The Swift FX is totally different.  The only problem I had was I couldn't adjust the top of the headgear enough to keep the pillows in.  I guess my head and face are too small--ResMed just needs to add a couple more notches.

I just wanted to let you all know that this mask might be a great solution to some of the problems some of you have with pillows or masks in general!

Any mask is covered by Medicare. However, if your DME is more concerned about their bottom line than about patient satisfaction, they might tell you that it is "not covered" by Medicare. ResMed is sometimes a little more expensive than other brands. And, some DME's get better deals with other manufacturers. So, even though Medicare will cover their cost of the ResMed mask, the profit isn't as high. I've had patients tell me that their DME told them Medicare "wouldn't cover" what our doctor ordered. We know that Medicare does and that they are just concerned about their profit.

I'll let Melinda respond also but i believe it is, in fact, covered by Medicare because Medicare only knows of it as a CPAP mask -- it doesn't distinguish whether it's a new or old model, good or bad. they just pay for it because they pay for CPAP masks generally.

Hi Melinda,

That new Swift FX from ResMed sound like a good comfortable mask, which is what I'm looking for. Do you know if it's covered by Medicare?

Sonia
I just ordered one, and I am now patiently waiting for the mail man to deliver it (I paid the extra seven bucks for Priority Mail). The last Swift I tried was horrendously noisy; I hope that this one is as quiet as ResMed claims.
