Still Snoring A Little (Vibratory Snore Around 3.3)

I've been on Respironics BPAP w Auto for nearly a year, pressure 20/14 and using a Mirage Quattro FF, AHIs ranging from around 0.5 to around 6. I bought Encore Viewer a few months ago and have noticed a usual vibratory snore; low but going up recently.

I read on another forum that snoring is a sign that something is wrong.

Is this true?

What could be possible reasons for still snoring while on a PAP? What could possibly be wrong?

Vibratory Snore Index is not the same as snoring. Don't Panic! It's a measure of vibration in the column of air in the tube that is of a similar frequency as that of snoring. If you are in Auto Mode, it is one of the cues used to raise the pressure to head off a hypopnea or apnea before it happens. The only time I get concerned about a high Vibratory Snore Index is if it is consistently very high (over 40) and the AHI is also elevated. That could potentially be a cue that you'd be better off with a higher pressure than your current level.

By the way, your concerns are quite typical and are the reason that some people argue that those who haven't been properly "trained" in the interpretation of the data should have access to it. I say, Nonsense!. The answer is for everyone to be better educated.
