So about a month and a half ago I switched from a FF gel mask to the mirage quattro FF mask which cured my leakage problems. But one thing I noticed was that there was quite noticeably a greater airflow through the small vent holes. This resulted in more drying out so I had to turn up the humidifier. This seemed to work reasonably well. But then I got sick last week with post nasal drip and sore throat. Well, my dryness problem came back and it was very uncomfortable even at the highest humidity setting.
So I got the idea to try blocking up some of the vent holes. Well, I blocked up about a third of them with tape and it worked wonders. I seemed to be getting plenty of fresh air still and the humidity level improved and I didn't have the dryness problem any more. Now that I seem to be over my illness, I have left the holes blocked and turned down the humidifier and it seems to be a bit more comfortable then before.
So is there a downside to blocking up some of the small vent holes? I left a bit more than half uncovered and seem to be getting plenty of air flow......
Any thoughts?
Chris
