9/19/10

Hello - Has anyone tried this Cpap mask?  $170.00 US

Last night I tossed & turned with the Quattro full face mask.  I'm a nose breather so either I will choose the nasal mask or pillow mask by 9/25/10.

The SleepWeaver is made of cloth and has no rigid parts that come into contact with the skin. It inflates to form a balloon of air that pushes gently against the patient's face to form a seal. Because the cloth is flexible and follows the exact shape of each individual patient's face, air leakage is reduced.

Very little tension is required in the headgear to achieve a good seal, which is formed by the air pressure inside the mask instead.  Because the need to continually tighten the mask to achieve a good seal is eliminated, SleepWeaver users no longer experience  pressure sores on the bridge of the nose or other parts of the face.

I haven't tried this mask myself as I use a FFM, but I have heard good things about it.
Good luck, keep us posted.
Here is a link to several post about this particular mask. It seems that many have been unsuccessful with getting this mask to work -- yet the ones that do seem to really like it.

Hope Mike doesn't mind the outside link.
thank you Carol. If I get this mask through my insurance and don't like it I can always buy myself another one and every 6 months I can change, so I'm going to stop stressing out. I know the 1st 30 days are heck. I'm persistant so I will overcome and get the mask that works & doesn't leak!

My doc ordered one for me and I have not received it yet.
Apria was supposed to order it so I better check, they do not do what they say most of the time

I am looking forward to trying this. The nasal pillows make my nose sore at times

Sandra the key is finding the mask that is RIGHT for you. Each of us are so individual that what one person feels is the greatest mask out there is someone else's worst nightmare. :)

It seems that you have the right idea -- I know I went through a ton of mask before finding the one that works best for me -- and it is another one that you either love it or hate it (the Headrest/Aura).

It can be expensive trying new masks out so make sure that your DME is cooperative and willing to do the 30 day trial of masks to help you find one that works.
