Carolyn,
I use a Mirage Quattro FFM and just a plain, flat foam pillow. I turn from side to side during the night though mostly sleep on my left side and back. My partner is on my right side in the bed and the vent at the top of my mask blows out a real stream of air. Anyway, I would like to try a special pillow, but l get along fine with the plain flat one I have.

i use the "Oxygen Pillow" which i find doesn't allow the head/neck to sink into the pillow, providing more stability for the mask irrespective of sleep position.

Will insurance pay for these special pillows as they are very pricey. If not, any cheaper alternatives? Thanks.

As far as I know insurance does not cover them. I imagine if you have a FLEX plan it might.

Some of us are in a trial study on a new pillow called the SideSolution pillow. If you do a google search on it you can find it. It is not nearly as expensive as many of the other speciality pillows (around $40.00).

Keep an eye out for the reviews of this pillow.

I sleep with my regular down feather pillows. However, i tried something last night that worked really well. I like to sleep mostly on my side and I seemed to be jarring the swift nasal pillows out of place during the night. I had small round "neck roll" a friend had purchased for me laying on my bed. Last night I instinctively just grabbed the thing and stuck it under my neck-- and voila!!!! Perfect. Having said that, I have ordered an Oxygen pillow and will be trying that in a few days.

How does one become part of this trial study? I bought a Soma pillow from Brookstone a couple of years ago ($129) to keep me on my side as my OSA was determined to be positional according to my first sleep study. Sometimes it worked but other times I would find myself on by back with my chin practically on my neck :)

I got in on the study and have used the pillow for 3 nights now - yesterday I put up the extra pillows I've had on my bed forever. I love the pillow, before I was angled up and then would fold the top one under because the hose always gets in the way - this one is rounded! way better then the side sleeper pillow with memory foam I tried last month. I have the nasal pillow mask and the rounded pillow works great with it.
