Even the Homeless Are Helping in Our Cause (But Went Too Far)

I am really glad that people are seeing signs of sleep apnea in their friends and
strongly urging them to seek diagnosis and treatment.

But don't kill them if they refuse treatment!!!

".... Robin Richard Bottyan said he was lying on his mat at a northwest Drop-In Centre (Calgary) residence when the man suddenly sat up in his own bed.

Bottyan said Jeffrey Marple had been snoring and he suspected he was suffering from sleep apnea when Marple unexpectedly awoke. “As soon as he wakes
up I’m like (expletive) buddy,’” Bottyan said, explaining he was trying to tell
Marple to get his condition checked.

Marple then got up from his bedding and began heading toward the shelter’s office, before abruptly turning around,
Bottyan said. The much bigger Marple, who was twice Bottyan’s 146 lbs., then
came at him, the accused testified. “All I had time to do was stand up and as
soon as I stood up he grabbed me and punched me,” Bottyan said.

Bottyan, 36, is charged with manslaughter in connection with the Feb. 14, 2008, incident
at the Bowness Rd. shelter known as the Warehouse."

That is encouraging to know that the homeless now recognize the symptoms and seriousness of sleep apnea.

Many doctors still don't.
