For anyone in the Hampton Roads Area of Virginia, EVMS is conducting a research study on Sleep Apnea and Insomnia, for adults 18-64. For the sleep apnea study  you have to have been on CPAP for two months or more.  There are some restrictions on alcohol, caffeine use, and daytime naps.  It would involve five nights in a Sleep Lab.  They are investigating a new drug for daytime alertness, similar to Provigil in action. I don't know if there is compensation.  I assume the testing would be done at Sentara Norfolk General Hostital (assumption- right by EVMS).  I played a little phone tag with Wanda Kennedy who first does a telephone survey ( I didn't qualify because of psychiatric meds)- you can reach Ms. Kennedy at 757-388-3795.
