May he rest in peace...

kudos to the Denver Medical Examiner who recognized the enlarged heart as caused by Sleep Apnea
The article also says, "Alcohol and a powerful pain medication, oxymorphone, were also found in his system".

That is a deadly combination with sleep apnea.
Another one where sleep apnea gets recognition in death: http://www.dchieftain.com/dc/index.php/news/2443-bob-merkel-teacher...

"Bob Merkel, amateur naturalist, secretary of the Friends of the Bosque and a lay leader of the Socorro Branch of the Unitarian Universalist Church, died Thursday morning in his home. He was 80.

The cause was sleep apnea, said his wife, Debby Safford. He was in perfect health, and had led hiking tours, near the Sierra de la Cruz range and on the west face of Oscura Mountain, for the Festival of the Cranes on Tuesday and Wednesday. He was scheduled to lead a hike in the Quebradas on the day he died, to give a lecture on the history of New Mexico's Native Americans on Friday, and to lead yet another hike, this time in the Chupadera Wilderness Area, on Saturday."

It is surprising that he is described as "in perfect health" if he had sleep apnea severe enough to kill him. I wonder if there is more to the story?
