I've been suffering from a sinus infection for the past 22 days.  My doctor prescribed antibiotics.  Amoxicillin, then Levaquin.  I took each for 10 days respectively.  I'm not much better.  I've been unable to sleep completely through the night (sometimes not at all) on my BiPap.  This has been scary because when I was initially diagnosed in December 2010, it came as a result of hospitalization for low blood oxygen.  Hence, a night has not passed (until now) without me sleeping with my BiPap.  I have an appointment with an ENT tomorrow.  My doctor says I will suffer sinus infections from time-to-time because of sleeping with the BiPap.  Is this what I have to look forward to?  Help!

Shelia-

I am so sorry to hear of your sinus problems. I too had bi-pap and nasal/allergy problems. My ENT says this happens and that since I have a deviated septum I need surgery to open me up. Have you tried sinus rinse? I used a machine called SinuPulse Elite. It sends pulsating saline water into your sinuses to clean them out. I find this and nasal sprays get alot of the "stuff" out. Unlike a nettie pot you can used this during a sinus infection to clean out the "stuff". It has cleaned me up many times.

Hope you get better.

Blessings-

Thanks so much for the info.  I saw the ENT on Wednesday and he said I too have a deviated septum.  He gave me a sample of an over-the-counter sinus rinse (NeilMed), and prescribed Nasonex and an antibiotic.  I have to say that in only one day after following his instructions I actually feel better.  I will remember your advice for future relief.  Thanks again.
