Hi every one. I have had sleep apnea for around 10 years. I read where several of you have had more sleep studies done. I have only had the one where they said I had it bad. I have not seen a doctor for this condition since, they just left my machine hanging on the back door so when I got home from work it was there.  I get new mask and hoses as need form a medical supply place. I wake up several times a night and move around alot. I just got a new machine 11 days ago.  I have a humidifier on the machine but still wake up with mouth and throat VERY dry.

Just wondered If all of you were under a doctors care?? Thanks

i think you need to find out one way or another how well your treatment is working out for you -- you can find a lot of clues to what's going on by looking at the detailed data on the data card.... that assumes you have a fully data capable machine.

if you have a fully data capable machine, and have a doctor willing and able to analyze your data for you, great... but that's not a given. alternatively, you can try to evaluate the data yourself. we will help you whatever path you choose.
my machine stores the data I hope I read this right
from Feb. 2 to Feb 9 this was what totals it had AHI and AI apnea index 0.2 hyponea index 2.5
%time in apnea 0.1 AHI 2.8

leaks median 0 95th percentile 27.6 max 110.4
Pressure median 10.2 95th percentile 13.5 max 17.8
it also showed a gragh were AHI and AI was 1.40 2.80.. 3.70
0.20 0.10 0.30
pressure 19.60 20.00 20.00 14.20
13.60 14.00 16.40 12.00
10.20 10.20 11.4 9.60

so what should these numbers be telling me. thanks
This info tells me that your treatment is working. What mask Are you using?
Margaret, I am still under a doctor's care after nearly two years. I did change doctors and like the new one better. We are still titrating and I've been seeing him at 6 weeks, then two months, three months, and now in four months. My numbers are not as good as yours and I am at an IPAP of 22 and EPAP of 18. I do think it's a good idea to have a visit with your sleep specialist, or whoever prescribed your CPAP at regular intervals (that would vary with each person), but since your numbers are so good it sounds like you're doing fine. Good luck.
