After all obstructive events have been cleared up and Spo2 is still less than 90% for I believe 3 minutes or longer. At our lab it is >85%
The patient you are studying tonight is a 55 year old female who has a history which includes snoring, observed apneas, smoking, EDS, asthma, and GERD. She is post menopausal and is morbidly obese. You have the capability only one more derivation to your recording montage. Given the above information which single item would the be the most helpful?
I would want to monitor her Pco2 levels. This would be done by using an end tidal co2 monitor (Etco2).

You are probably right Mollete, but why? Why would I not monitor etco2 with a BMI over 45%?
