I just had another sleep test done in May.  My pressures have been increased to 20/24 which luckily I tolerate and my FitLife Total Face Mask can stand the pressure without leaks.  It's only been a couple of days since the change (from 18/22) so I'll have to wait for a while to see if my numbers improve.  A visit to an ENT is probably in my furure.

I also had a MSLT, does anyone know  what SOREMPs are? I had none of them with a sleep latency of 8 minutes and a diagnosis of hypersomnia.  I didn't see SOREMPs in the glossary.

That MSLT is a hard, boring test.  And the tech- can you imagine watching a person for 8+ hours while they sit there for two hours and then nap for 20 minutes!

Thanks

"sleep onset rapid eye movement periods"

It means the subject goes into the REM stage of sleep immediately upon falling to sleep. This is often a sign of a high level of sleep deprivation.

All other things being equal, it is better you did not have SOREMPs. Were you afraid you were missing out on something good? :)

nah, didn't think I was missing something good, just wondered what it was. It means I don't have narcolepsy, just hypersomnia. Good article, Banyon, thanks. I'm certainly not sleep deprived!
