If your doctor wants to up your pressure to 8 cms all he has to do is FAX the new pressure script to your local DME supplier who will then turn the pressure up for you. I'm not positive (I have a Resmed) but I'm pretty sure that the local DME supplier, or your doctor if he has the EncorePro software, can change the pressure via the data card so you would only have to take or mail your data card in and they could return it w/the new settings. All you would have to do is insert the data card and the therapy changes would be made. At least this can be done w/the Resmeds and I assume that it can also be done this way w/the Respironics REMStar M Series xPAPs as well.

Some local DME suppliers might send someone to your house to make the therapy change, some might require you to bring your xPAP in for them to make the changes and some might make the changes thru the data card as I described above.
it dont have a data card in it i no there a way 2 do it
There is a way, I don't remember how to change it, someone from another group gave it out
Then you take your CPAP in to your sleep doctor or your local DME supplier to have them change the pressure.
It's best to take it to your DME company. I'm sure there are several of us that know how to change the settings, but we have to see the Rx to change them. It is unethical for us to tell you how to change them over the Internet as increases in pressure can possibly induce a different type of sleep apnea. I hope you understand :)
You are supposed to get a Rx from your Dr.to turn up your pressure. I'm surprised your Dr. would not do even 1cm of pressure. What was his reason?
If your doctor wants it turned up I would suggest that you call his office and ask that he fax the information to the DME where you got your machine. I doubt if there would be a charge if you used the same DME that gave you the machine.

What is bothering you that makes it feel like you are not getting enough air?
Are you having large leaks?
How long has it been since you had a sleep study?
Have there been significant changes since getting your machine?
