I learned at last night's NYC AWAKE Group meeting that REM ZZZs, the comfort accessory that is used to establish a protective barrier between your face and the CPAP mask, is now covered by insurance -- I think it's billed the same as a mask cushion.  Wonder whether PAD-A-CHEEK products, Sleep Comfort Care Pads, and the rest of the CPAP accessories are soon to follow . . .

To me, that is a quite surprising development. There is a background question of whether that is an appropriate role and use for insurance.
Well they state a code has been assigned. This does not necessarily mean that Medicaid, Medicare, or private health insurance pays anything for that code.
a code and payment are so different. I know most of my private insurances will not pay for them.
