Hi everyone,

I have a question about my mask. I am using the Respironics Comfort Gel mask, the size is small. I am still having a problem with the head gear its too big. I have to pull the top part down in order to get the mask to stay on correctly. Is there another type of mask that might have smaller head gear?

Thank you,

Hope

Most manufacturers make a petite or kids size. Your equipment provider should have the info that you need.
Yes, your equipment provider should be able to help you with this. Tell them the problem you are having and perhaps there is a smaller size headgear available. We all have had to get creative at times to adjust, or modify headgear to meet our needs. But the equpment provider should be able to provide you with some answers. Keep us posted, Hope.

I've had a problem w/two or three different mask headgears. There's nothing like good ole velcro to solve that problem. Just pull a pleat or fold in the offending strap(s). Hold the fold in place w/a velcro strip. Play around w/adjusting the size of the fold until you get it right or until you know that this is not the mask for you. If you find that getting the right size fold in the strap works and you really like the mask, then its time to cut that fold out and put the two cut ends together w/a velcro strip. The nice thing about this method is that you are not returning a mask w/in 30 days because of a headgear that could have been adjusted so that the mask was a success. On the other hand, if getting the right headgear fit w/the fold and velcro makes it clear the mask just isn't right for you, you can still return the mask w/in 30 days because you've not altered the headgear.
