I have found that aromatherapy helps me sleep better. I highly recommend trying Pur-Sleep if you are having difficulty in sleeping due to your cpap. I have no vested in interest in Pur-Sleep -- just a satisfied customer.

The following was taken from the Pur-Sleep wesite: www.pur-sleep.com

Finally, a CPAP comfort product that really works--just read what our customers are saying! Natural aromatics are surprisingly effective in helping people feel calm and relaxed and will help you become desensitized to your CPAP equipment. Just imagine being able to focus your attention on a pleasant, relaxing aroma and feeling your CPAP frustrations melt into the background. The Pur-Sleep System (pronounced "Pure-Sleep") is an amazingly simple and effective way to help you tolerate your CPAP--guaranteed!

The sense of smell is part of the brain's emotional centers and cognitive distraction--focusing on a pleasant smell to the exclusion of other distractions--is a prominant feature of human olfaction. Good smells have also been shown to make spaces feel less enclosed and more open. Nothing improves moods better or faster than a good smell. No more bad CPAP smells--stale air, plastic odors! Just Luxurious CPAP Aromatherapy with our amazing essential oils! Click here to read about some of the science behind our products.

If you email Bret (the owner) via the above link and explain why you would like free samples he will gladly mail them to you at no charge. You will have to give him enough info so that he knows you are truly on a cpap as he has been overwhelmed by persons that are not cpap users wanting samples. If nothing else mention my user id -- sleepycarol and tell him I sent you.

i can't say one thing or another about this product, not having tried it myself, but i do like to see businesses being created around our needs.
Carol,
Thanks for mentioning this! I too believe firmly in aromatherapy and use essential oil of Lavender in my bedroom. Lavender has been known to help calm the mind and body, and also promotes healing. I am VERY into aromatherapy and will definitely conact Bret to see what his products are and how they can help me even more.

So again, thank you for this discussion topic! You are extremely helpful and I look forward to any more of your suggestions. Bring it on SleepyCarol!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind regards,
Melodie
Happy New Year. I'm Sleepguy (Bret) and just joined the forum--thanks to Carol and an email contact from Melodie. Carol and I met on that *other* forum (cpaptalk). My story is quite simple. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 4 years ago and during the first year had never been able to sleep past 2 am--not once. I would wake up really mad about my cpap and just want to destroy it. Then I would take it off. By the end of the first year of treatment I had stopped using it altogether (I had convinced myself that I slept ok on my side).

By that time I was developing another business with my brother that involved aromatic products and had hundreds of essential oil samples lying around. I started experimenting with aromatics and CPAP and from that first night until last night I have been able to sleep all night, every night, flat-out with my eqiupment. Aromatics cannot touch cpap equipment because they have a solvent effect (and void warranties) so I have created every concievable way to use them without touching the equipment. The most recent version uses a paper tray and a compressed fiber diffusion pad that you place near the air intake.

I have been very active on the cpaptalk forum for the last two years. Initially it was something of a challenge because forum members are extremely sensitive about being spammed with new products. While I have certainly gotten business from the forum, the product feedback and suggestions have been invaluable in the product development and optimization process. And Carol has been one of my happy test subjects.

At this point I have developed a free sample set that I am sending to people who contact me via email (bret@pursleep.com) and convince me they are legitimate cpap users (I recently got spammed on one of the "something for nothing" internet sites).

I'm new to this forum and look forward to getting to know people. Stick with your therapy! Don't give up. There's way too much at stake.

Sleep apnea is not just a sleeping disorder. Low blood oxygen destroys your body.
Welcome to our group Sleepguy!!!!!!!!!
This is Melodie and I am thrilled that you decided to join us here at sleepguide.com! Also I want to say thank you for responding back to my sample request so quickly! And thanks to Carol for putting your product information on the discussions.

I hope you enjoy our group, and I know I am looking VERY forward to receiving some product samples from you and will be a continuous customer to you very soon!

Kind regards,
Melodie
