Thanks for that link jnk. I have some patients in need. Do you know anyone whom has that particular machine?
Thanks jnk, I sent an email asking for the specs, and a copy of the manual. I am on the fence with EPR/flex technology. I have seen it cause some problems for patients when calculated into the titration process.
Sorry! When not calculated into the titration process. I can't correct my post on this PC.
You are correct jnk. Reading your patients becomes very important when thinking about the EPR/Flex. The machines are set up to what the tech does, and what the doc agrees on. It can cause problems for the user if the titration is done without EPR/Flex technology and it is added once at home. This completely changes the formula for optimum pressure.

I also agree that if this technology is added it may cause an increase in pressures. I typically do not add this setting unless I titrate above 9cm. For one to keep the pressures low. I feel that at lower pressures a ramp with a low time limit may benefit the pt more. After 9cm I pay close attention to the rhythm of the breathing. If needed I will always add the pressure relief. Another rule that I have is to always use cflex+(respironcs) on smokers. I do this from the beginning of the study. Smokers tend to blow off more co2 and have a longer exhale. Cflex+ allows for this phenomenon.
