I've been using a ResMed VPAP S successfully for over 2 years. My pressures have been IPAP 20, EPAP 16. Every morning I manually check my results via LED readout.

The reading for IPAP have been a steady 20 forever. Suddenly I'm getting lower readings. Last night Pressure was 9.6! The leaks we OK at 1.5 L/s and the AHI was OK too at 3.8.

So could it be that this VPAP S machine is down shifting my pressure when I do not need it?

Thanks for your help, Tom

Hi Tom, Has your weight changed? Are you having less allergic reactions to anything? Are you eating dinner early? Are you exercising more? Any medication or suppliment changes? Good Sleep,Chris

Everything has been fairly consistent, no major changes in diet, exercise etc. Last night Pressure was 6.8 with AHI of 0.9. I'm beginning to think it is a software problem.
Hi Tom, How are your numbers? Good Sleep,Chris

Back to normal, thanks for asking. With an IPAP of 20 I really have to tighten down on the mask because any leakage throws off the numbers.

Have a great weekend, Tom

Tom, have you ever taken your VPAP S in to your provider to have a maintenance check? It is recommended that you do so once a year.

I sent my VPAP Auto in just a few months ago just because it seemed strange that I would get a similar variation in data on occasion altho I would have sworn I was getting as good therapy as ever. I talked to both Resmed and my provider and both suggested it was a firmware problem. Resmed said it would cost only $55 to do so since it was no longer under warranty. My provider told me my insurance would probably cover it but if not it would only cost me $35. My insurance did pay for it. They replaced the acoustic foam bottom case and motor. My insurance covered it and I didn't even have a copay for it. My provider supplied me w/an equivalent loader whilst they had my VPAP Auto (PR S1BPAP Auto).

Your Users Manual tells you to take it in once a year for a maintenance check.

Good to know, thank you. Who is your DME?  Best, Tom

The business you bought your CPAP from is your DME provider. (DME = durable medical equipment)
LOL. I meant who is your specific DME? Tom
Sheldon Medical Supply. They cover about 1/3 of the state of Michigan w/offices in Bad Axe, Marysville, Sandusky, Saginaw and Caro. I've been very happy w/them - especially after having to put up w/the first sheister DME provider I got stuck w/for a short while.
