I have just received a Phillips machine for a two month trial. They gave me two face "masks" to try, one that goes over the nose, and one that goes directly into the nostrils. I would love to hear from others as to their experience with this machine, and which face mask they prefer.
I have the same machine. It's very good and data capable, BUT you must purchase Encore Viewer 2.0 software in order to see the detailed data. The on screen data reports only 7 and 30 day averages and is of very limited usefulness. If you want to see the kind of data you can get, check out my blog at
With respect the the nasal masks, I'm suspecting you were not fit correctly for the nasal pillows because they do NOT belong IN your nose. The nasal pillows are designed to rest lightly against the outside of your nostrils--only a very small bit of the tip of the pillows goes into your nose.
If you are mouth breathing with either the nasal pillows or nasal mask, you might be helped by a chin strap and/or taping (either a small piece just to keep your relaxing jaw from falling open, or a complete seal of your lips if needed). Nasal pillow and nasal masks are generally much more comfortable and leak proof than full face masks, but many people really like FF masks and do just fine with them. It's a matter of peronal experience and preference.
