Philips Respironics FITLIFE TOTAL FACE CPAP MASK

I need some feedback on the  Philips Respironics FITLIFE TOTAL FACE CPAP MASK. Anyone use this mask? Mary Z's avatar picture looked like this mask when I did a search on full face masks here.

i haven't used it yet, but i've heard very good things about it. I'm sure others will chime in who have actual firsthand experience with it, instead of just the anecdotal (albeit positive anecdotal) info i have for you.
Mike, thanks for the quick response. Nice to hear it's not notoriously bad. I like a gel cushion so I was concerned.
Mickey1,
I use the FitLife Total Face Mask exclusively. I have an IPAP of 22 so I need to wear it pretty tightly. I also have made several modifications. Since they don't make a medium and a medium is what I would be, I wear the small which is a bit too small. I tied the top strap that goes over the top of your head to the place where the two lower strps meet. This keeps the over the head strap and the back of the head strap from sliding down the back of my head. As the mask is too small, I also have a problem with the chin part slipping up iinto my mouth. I added a cross strap (used a failrly small elastic hairband from one side to the other- at the site of the connectors. The bottom piece stays put out of my mouth, and I have a usually leak free mask. It does leave rather long lasting marks down the side of my face, but is not uncomfortable when it's on. I also was able to make the large size work by putting a pencil size bead of siliccone putty around the edge of the whole mask essentially sticking the whole edge around my face.
Good Luck, if you think of more questions, let me know. There are some other folks on the forum who have used it, too.
Mary Z, great info thanks. I need the CPAP machine set to only 10 so that helps a lot. My mouth was very dry this morning and I had a sore upper lip from the pressure of the mask I use now. Big head here so a large should fit me.
Mary Z could you tell me what brand of putty you use and how long it lasts?
Mack's silicone ear plugs, available at walmart and various drug stores. I rub the small pieces together into a string and use it that way. The next morning I take it all off roll it into a ball and put it in an airtight container. It lasts two weeks maybe more reusing it in that way. You might not need the putty if the large fits you and doesn't leak, or just need it where you have a leak.

Mary Z, I have a beard so I might need to use Mack's silicone. I just use thick hand cream now on my upper lip. The help here is great. Thanks.
Does anyone have any negative comments about this mask?
Two significant problems: it dislodges if you sleep on your side or turn in your sleep; its really loud -- my wife won't tolerate it.

I don't find it loud, nor does my roommate, but it does tend to get dislodged the more you move around in bed. I'd say it's definitely better for back sleeping- good call Clueless.
Also there is a little O2 port on the side I had to glue on as it kept coming loose. Then it's also a one piece mask- there are no parts to replace should the cushion part wear out. I don't even know if headgear is available separately. Now, I do sleep on my side and then can expect a leak of about 0.26- very acceptable. With back sleeping I can get 0 leakage.
You might want to buy return insurance if you get this mask from say, cpap.com, where it's $144.00. Or I just bought a brand new one off cpapauction for $116.00.
Let us know what you decide and what you think of it, Mickey1.
I don't have insurance so I can't move too fast. When I do I'll let you know. Thanks for the web sites for purchasing. I am a vet so I'll see if the VA can get me one. They usually are restrictive on what you can get. Tried last time to get a full face mask but got the nose only mask ;(
