Are there any new cpap users over the age of 80?
My mother has just been diagnosed with OSA and the doctor has given her a cpap.
I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks.

Well, before I started on CPAP, I felt like I was 80...

I don't think that will help, though...
I know that as the population is aging and with awareness of OSA/CSA more doctors are making referrals and with that is an increase in the elderly using machines.

You may get more feedback if you widen your scope some and ask how many senior citizens have been diagnosed. Since sleep apnea's long term effects and a host of other issues may impact whether one even reaches the age of 80.
I am for any treatment that helps anyone get quality sleep. Without proper sleep our bodies do not function. The immune system fails, we develop cardiac arrhythmias. Some develop issues from a failed endocrine system. If you are 8 hours or 80 years old, you need help with sleep take the treatment.
My stepfather is 93 and has been on CPAP for years. He says it makes a huge difference in how he feels every day. The most noticeable thing is leg cramping the day after he does not use the machine.
