Earlier this year, Harvard's Partners Healthcare put a cap on payments its physicians can receive for serving on corporate boards at $5,000 a day. Although the cap primarily affects top researchers and executives, it is by far the stiffest limit...full story http://www.medpagetoday.com/PublicHealthPolicy/Ethics/tb/18991

And then we wonder WHY health care, medical research, prescriptions meds, college tuition, etc. cost so freaking much????

I wonder how much these guys make a day? If we sat on a "corporate board" they would convince us it was our duty and we would have to pay for lunch.

I am unsure about the medical field, but I have found in the area of education, one's salary isn't always dependent upon how smart you actually are. I have met some really dumb administrators that make more than they should at the expense of other staff members. I am sure it is that way in all fields, regardless of what field it is.
So true, SleepyCarol - but this isn't a salary, this is a per day each time a Corporate Board of Directors meet. And since Harvard's Partners HealthCare is capping the limit its physicians can receive and it is the STIFFEST LIMIT .... just how much do some of these sheisters receive who sit on corporate boards???
