Opus pillows vs Swift LT pillows
When I first came to this site, I asked for information about machines because my insurance deductible was very high and my plan would not cover anything about the equipment I needed. You guys gave me some wonderful advise and I found a good machine at a very affordable price. My doctor was great, she had me bring the machine in and get it all set up (even did it for free). I then asked her about giving the another script (the DME had the original one and supposedly had put it in themail) for the mask. My doctor gave me an Opus Nasal Pillow set (again, for free) to try out. The doctor had originally suggested an Swift LT nasal pillow mask.
My question is, has anyone used the Opus and Swift and how to you think they compare. I am considering buy the Swift. I am hoping the pillows are a little more comfortable than the Opus. I wish my insurance would kick something in, but they won't, so I have to fork over the entire cost. I have seen several people say they really like the Swift LT, just wanting a comparision of the two products if anyone has used both.

They're both good masks. When given a choice between Opus, Swift LT, and the Optilife (sorry to throw another in the mix) most patients pick.
1. Swift LT
2. Optilife
3. Opus
That said, it's what you are comfortable with. They're all durable and well made. Nice thing about the Optilife is that they have a nasal cradle, so that nothing is up your nose anymore. The cradle does well with movement and you don't get the chapping of the nares like you do with an insert. I believe that they ship with the cradle and the pillows. (that's what the rep said yesterday anyway)

I started out with the Opus pillows and after a year and a half switched to the Swift LT. I have been much, much happier with the Swift LT. The Opus was fine when everything was new but it didn't seem to take long for the headgear to stretch and I would begin to experience a lot of leaking. The Swift seems to make the three months between replacements much better for me.
In fact, I am currently about a month past due for replacing my headgear and I am not having any trouble. With the Opus I would have gone off therapy if I had waited this long before replacing.

The Swift is about the same as the Opus, but the Swift L.T. is the Quietest most comfortable mask check that...breathing Device ever made. It has anouther major advantage, It does not leak. P.S. I do not work for ResMed.

I agree nothing beats a swift if you prefer pillows.

Thanks! I will give the Swift a try. I have noticed the headgear on the Opus seems to have stretched. I also notice the Opus pillows will pop out very easily. It is hard to find them on a white carpet in the middle of the night!

Not the Swift! The Swift L.T. There is a major difference.
