Operating my CPAPcauseless Patton
I have the Repironics Remstar Auto M series with C-flex. My question is how do I tell if the machine is in auto CPAP? It seems to be constantly blowing at one setting. I have a hard time exhaling, it seems to be making me take shorter breaths.

there's an option on the user screen of the machine called "settings" -- press the plus sign to enter that menu, and then scroll through the various settings with the arrow keys until you get to the screen titled "Auto" -- it will say either "OFF" or "ON"

Thanks Mike for replying. There is no "settings" option, what it looks like is I have to return it to the Provider to have the settings changed or the card read, etc. I think it must be a lot of users that are not concerned with taking charge of their own well being.

oh, yeah -- i forgot that the providers of the machines have the ability to turn off even the very basic information about what kind of treatment you're getting.... criminal that they can do that. i'm not talking about the ability to change one's settings, which they also hide from you --- i'm just talking about communicating to the user what the settings are. seems pretty basic and i can't imagine what principled justification there could possibly be for hiding the ball on that to the user.
