What do we do for a living?  Are we in high stress jobs, jobs that make us want to fall asleep, somewhere in between or all of the above?

I am in IT, so I would say VERY stressfull! I think the stress keeps me awake. I have to keep moving or I willl fall asleep. I actually do more work than my collegues!!
I'm a cartoonist so the stress mainly comes from being self-employed with no steady income or insurance. :) But I make myself laugh all the time so that helps! :)
I am in the business of helping people with sleep apnea sleep more comfortably. I love my job and I happen to have the best clients in the world in my opinion. I am always striving to learn how to do my job better and it is people like you who help teach me.
Thank you

Karen
I am retired but I find that I need more naps by using the CPAP than I did without it. I've only been using the CPAP for 3 months .. some tell me I need to just hang in there, it will get better. I'm still adjusting to using it.
I was an engineer and worked in night shifts. It was very difficult and dangerous for me so I quit my job. However, I gathered some money from that job and I started to build a website about sleep disorders. It's more interesting this way. And I'm happy.
I'm a commercial lender to small business. Prior to my diagnosis and treatment, I had difficulty concentrating and hated going to work. Sleep was all I wanted and yet, no matter how much of it I got, it was never enough. Now I sleep 6 to 7 hours and wake refreshed. Before the CPAP therapy, my wife thought my work was killing me. But, after 6 mos on the machine, I have lost weight, regained my sense of humor and found a renewed enjoyment from helping my clients. The work is still stressful, but it's fun again.
I have a drafting and design business (architecture). I am usually at my desk during the day unless Im making a site visit. If I am at my desk, I 'will' fall asleep. If I am walking around on site, I will become so fatigued as to become unfocused and ineffective. CPAP helped aLOT, but not 100%.
I retired a little over a year ago but for quite a few years I worked in the shipyards, no high stress, just manual labour which I enjoyed. The stress came later when I trained for and worked at a University hospital as a financial counselor and ER trauma clerk. I was even admitted myself, twice from my job for heart related issues. I finished my last 2 years on the hospital switchboard, another stressful job, as this was quite a large hospital. Since I retired I am in much better shape. I don't think I was made for white collar jobs. I am a person that needs physical activity and I don't play office politics well.
IT and Marketing - usually enough to do to keep the adrenaline pumping to keep me awake!
I was a Hemodialysis RN, currently disabled from factors probably unrelated to sleep apnea.
I am a self employed decorator, specializing in designing window treatments , custom bedding and upholstery.I love my work, it's creative and very rewarding.Cpap has given my life back to me, thank God
I am in Radiology IS. Stress level depends on the stage we are in on implementation of new systems, or upgrading old systems. Love the job, and really don't feel a lot of stress. In fact I usually do my best work when I am under pressure.
