NY Sleep Techs to Be Licensed By State in 2011

The head of the NY state sleep association reports progress in getting NY State to license polysomnographic technicians: 

"I am confident that in 2011 polysomngraphic technicians will be licensed by the State," Dr. Michael Thorpy wrote in an email update.  

He further reported that legislation to approve the licensure requirement has the support of the NYS Education Department (SED), the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Medical Society of NYS.
