I have not been using the CPAP machine for a while. I started using it 2 night ago (5/4/2009). I can't remember whether I should feel air coming out where the tube meets the bottom of the mask? I think that might be normal. I have to keep the mask fairly tight to avoid leakage. As a result, the bridge of my nose is red and irritated and hurts. Being only 2 nights, I don't feel any different. Can someone update me on what I should expect and how to solve the comfort level of the mask. Help would be gratefully appreciated.

Alan, congrats on getting back on the saddle. so, yes, a certain amount of air SHOULD be coming out where the tube meets the bottom of the mask - those are the vents to let exhaled air escape. on the leakage issue, it's typical to have some trouble getting this fixed at first, here's a thread on mask leaks and adjusting the mask that should be helpful. feel free to keep asking as many questions as you have, and we'll all try to help as best we can...
