I have been a mouth breather my entire life. Growing up I couldn't breathe through my nose and when they removed my oversized adnoids when I was 20, it was so different being able to breathe through my nose. However, I have to think about it otherwise I will breathe through my mouth. I am on oxygen 24/7 so it was a bit of a struggle to learn how to properly breathe through my nose to get the most benefit from the oxygen. Then when I got the CPAP, they gave me a full mask due to my mouth breathing and since it has a heated humidifier, it takes care of my dry throat. It also lets me relax and breathe through my mouth while I sleep and gives my poor nose a break from the oxygen tubes. What I am trying to say is that everyone has to find what works for them so they will utilize it for maximum health benefits. I hear about people not being able to get used to their CPAP and they take it off during the night or they stop using it and my heart goes out to them because they are not getting what they need so desperately. Like the saying goes, "Try, try and try again", that's what we need to do in regards to breathing, sleeping, eating, etc. They are all major life functions so let's work together to get them done right.
God or the Big fella or Mother Nature put hairs in your nose for some reason. 1.) To filter out stuff. 2.) To make you look like a party favor when you sneeze. 3.) To annoy you.
