It looks like you can purchase CPAP systems without an Rx of Amazon.com? Has anyone from our forum ever done this?

Nope, nope. Amazon pulls such offerings as soon as they are aware of them. As does e-Bay.
I've known people who have purchased additional machines on craigs' list, but then taken them to their DME to have set. Great for extra for multilevel homes and vacation homes. But to buy and set on own is another thing entirely.
You can find the Clinicians Manual for just about any PAP device on the market on the internet. Setting pressure on PAPs is NOT rocket science. As long as you set the pressure on your "back up" PAP to the same settings as you primary PAP its no big deal. Actual pressure changes from your titrated pressure is best done on the advice of your sleep doctor.
