This PSG was done w/NicoletOne. Supposedly this is the best data printout this PSG software is able to provide. The titration was done w/o 2L of 02 supplementation. I wasn't able to reduce the wasted space between the NicoletOne printout, the dicated report, the Tech Notes and the equipment order (prescription) so you'll just have to keep scrolling until you get to the bottom.

This is the dictated report.

These are the Tech Notes

and here is the script

Grrrrr! Doggone forum didn't accept my "edit" (maybe I took more than 15 minutes to write the edit??).

I saw a sleep neuro in 1996 who I REALLY, REALLY liked. But she kept diddling around w/sleep meds that brought no relief and a lot of unpleasant side effects so I eventually managed an appointment at our local hospital's sleep center. There I saw two of the three sleep pulmos they had on staff and a sleep neuro who was on their staff briefly. I really liked and hit if off w/one of the sleep pulmos. The sleep neuro sent me to an independent sleep lab that I did NOT like and refused to go back to for titration (the owner was not too long ago convicted of fraud in relation to his chain of sleep labs around the country and had been under investigation for YEARS!).

10 years later when I HAD to pursue the sleep issue whether I wanted to or not the sleep pulmo I liked at the hospital had moved to an independent sleep lab. I was absolutely DELIGHTED to find the sleep lab manager/owner was the RRT/RPSGT who had scored my hospital evaluation and titration PSGs and my MSLT as I had REALLY like her as well. Unfortunately, not too long after my original sleep pulmo left this sleep lab and since he moved an hour away I didn't follow him. The two new sleep pulmos were pleasant - I did have a slight disagreement w/one when he told me I asked "too many UNNECESSARY questions" but we cleared the air on that and he was the one who suggested the bi-level titration and put me on bi-level. Oooops! I saw one other sleep pulmo who was at the office on my pulmonologist when I was there. Again, pleasant, I had no gripes.

You haven't seen me b*tch about any of these sleep doctors.

When I went to Mayo last fall it was for a health problem I've been going there for on and off since 1976. I figured as long as I was there I would ask for a consult at their sleep center. I didn't ask for a PSG. Based on my experiences at Mayo and all the doctors I've met there over some 50 years for myself, family and even a friend, I had supreme confidence that Mayo would have the answer to the "puff" in Spontaneous mode w/my VPAP Auto that we hadn't found the answer to locally. THAT was what made this Mayo sleep doctor such a SHOCK!!!
i want to learn all of the software. i think you would like sandman.

Oh, I don't know about being a "sleep groupie", Rock Hinkle. BUT - yeah, whenever my sleep doctor next decides I should have a new PSG I won't argue about having one - just about WHERE I have it done.

Hey!!!! Now that you have me thinking along the lines of being a "sleep groupie" I WOULD probably volunteer for multiple PSGs IF - and mind you, the IF - each time I had one it could be on different PSG software. I was interested in coming to Indy 'cause on accountta I like your attitude AND you guys use Sandman. (Heaven forbid I should leave the impression you are the only reason! *wicked grin*)

And, Rock Hinkle, I really didn't get in to a pissing match w/the Mayo sleep doc. I just wrote him off as a condescending, control freak and tuned him out fairly early in our appointment as a close-minded, condescending bore. Well, actually I didn't come up w/the control freak opinion until AFTER the PSG and the report and his attempts to ensure that I didn't get access to information all of which didn't become clear until months after the fact.
Ach! I'm not at all satisfied w/this thread. There's just too much wasted space between the PSG report, tech notes, dictated results and script. If I can figure out how to cut the empty bottoms off these reports I think I will repost them as an article and delete this discussion thread.

In fact, posting the various PSG software reports might work out better in articles anyway. All we or at least I am trying to do is give people an idea of what the various full scored data summary reports w/condensed graphs look like - and in the case of this NicoletOne software what it is evidently NOT capable of providing. *sigh* The best laid plans of mice and men - and little ole grey haired ladies. *wicked grin*
