from member:  I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about five months ago. However, this may have been going on for the past 15 years or more. I have a bi level unit with a pressure of 22. Because I tend to sleep with my mouth open, I use a full face mask. My question is this: as of the past three months I've been getting some pretty bad headaches and a "tightness" and "pounding" at the base of my neck. I have had an EKG, stress test, chest x-ray and blood pressure checked. All normal. I'm wondering if this is related to sleep apnea. Has anyone out there had any or all of these experiences? And if so, how long did it last or is it still going on? I'm at wits ends!!! Any help would be grateful. Thank you.

Pretty scary stuff. I'm glad you got checked out medically.  Does the strap to your mask go across the back of  your neck?
