My husband's bi-pap makes a squeal sound. I'd like to get it stopped.

My husband's bi-pap makes a sound that has a pitch about 3 octaves above middle C.  It seems to come from his mask.  He doesn't hear it.  I gave him one of my masks that was too large for me.  It seemed to help, but the squeal/whistle came back.  Any ideas about getting this fixed?

In addition, he seems to stop breathing at times, snores quietly at times, his legs jerk a couple of times at least twice in the night.  I think he needs to go back to his doctor.

Your instincts are right, based on his stopping breathing at time and maybe even the leg jerks, he's due to talk to his sleep doctor.

What brand and model bi-level PAP is your husband using? The sound "could" be coming from the mask but it wouldn't do any harm at all to take his bi-PAP into his DME provider and have them check it out.
