I know it's recommended to wear your CPAP whenever you sleep, naps included. I was never asked to mask up, nor did I think of it when having my Multiple Sleep Latency Test.
How about anyone else?
The MSLT is a daytime test usually done after an overnight study when a nap of 20 minutes is followed by a wake time of 2 hours followed by another nap. They do this 4 or 5 times. It's to diagnose narcolepsy or hypersomnia. They can tell the difference between the two by when your REM cycle starts during the nap.

We just had this debate at my lab. I believe that if needed PAP should be worn during the MSLT.
Gee wilikers. Who can nap on demand? Seems to me it could only be an exhausted, untreated sleep apneac.
Those of us with hypersomnia or narcolepsy can sleep anytime. I took every one of those naps and had a hard time staying awake in between.
my thoughts exactly ! i can't sleep at night , much less during the day

Duh. I should have expanded my thinking on this inasmuch as I know narcolepsy well: my late mother was a narcoleptic. Indeed, she was a subject some thirty plus years ago at the Stanford Sleep Lab/Clinic (or whatever it is). Researchers were trying to understand the bizarre disorder and were grateful to find subjects.
If I had to choose between SA and narcolepsy, I'll take SA with my CPAP..

I know you wouldn't think it but narcoleptics have extremely bad sleep. Very short burst.
Worse, narcoleptics have those strange, bizarre nightmares just as they fall asleep. Night after night we had to rush in to my mother's room to waken her fully and bring her "back" from her nightmare.
I'll say it again: If I had to choose, I'd take SA over narcolepsy any day (or night!)
