I caught a chest cold 10 days ago which progressed to a head cold, then a sinus infection. With the sinus infection my cheeks hurt and it is hard to wear my mask. I have ended up taking it off in the middle of the night. Finally yesterday I saw a doctor and started on antibiotics and though the pain in my sinus cavities has not resolved yet- I have only taken two pills- I imagine I'll soon be feeling better and I'm determined to make it through the night with my mask on tonight. I turned the humidity up as I figure the more moisture I can get into my sinuses the better.
But I tell you- when folks used to write"CPAP with a cold?" I used to think of course. Now I know better what they are feeling and talking about and going through. I am fortunate that I have not experienced this since my diagnosis in March of 2008.

I have not had a cold since starting on CPAP two years ago. The thought of a cold is horrifying now! And now, it's the flu season. So I have been on somewhat of "House Arrest" avoiding people/crowds as much as I can. Feel better soon.
I too haven't had a bad cold since starting CPAP, perhaps we don't get as many as other because our immune system maybe better. I do find I get a dribbly nose more often than before and aways get an itchy nose when I put my mask on. I try scratching it before I put my mask on but still get it.
