I have been using a CPAP with nasal pillows since January.  I have had a very difficult time adjusting to using it, and I really have not seen a tremendous difference in how I feel during the day.  I know that many people say their headaches are lessened with proper use of the CPAP, but I have experienced just the opposite.  I have had diagnosed migraine headaches for 25 years, with less frequency in the past 5 years.  However, since I am using the CPAP I am having much more frequent ones that last longer and are more painful.  This last one involved the entire left side of my face and eye.  My jaw and teeth on the left side also were painful.  Has anyone else experienced this type of thing?  I will be seeing my doctor soon!  Thanks for any input.

I don't have migraines, but could the straps on your mask be too tight?

No, Mary, my straps are not too tight at all.  Even if they were, that would probably not cause a real migraine, which is a vascular change in the brain.  Thanks for your input.Betty

What is your humidifier set at? Are you using distilled water? What are you cleaning your hose and mask with?Good Sleep,Chris

My humidifier is set at 80, and I always use distilled water.  I clean my hose and mask with 1 part white vinegar/10 parts water as I was instructed.

Thanks for the interest.  I think I will take the machine back and see if there are some adjustments or problems that I am unaware of that would be triggering my migraines.  From what I have been reading, it can be one of the side effects.
