The tool used to measure a persons face is a rectangular piece of plastic with 3 triangular holes in it( sm, med., and lg). There are different tools for Nasal pillows, Nasal, and full face masks. I personally have not known about these valuable instruments for very long. Since implementing them into my titration routine I have had better luck with my fittings. I was wondering how many of you actually had you face measured for a mask?

Yep, i had my honker measured in one of those multiple hole measuring tool things. Although I could have told them the answer without the tool: Gi-Normous.
Hello;
I was wondering if any-one could point my Husband & I in the direction of
a where he (we) could get help for his Apnea. I know that a mask is worn,
but is it always A "Mask" & does it cover the whole face? I'm asking this
question because my Husband, belive it or not, can't breath with "any-thing"
on his face he sufficates. He knows that it makes no sence & tries to talk
him-self into not sufficating but it doesn't work (his pep talk to himself).
Is there any other way? I mean if I have to stay up every night to make
sure he's still breathing when morning comes, then so be it.
Can any-one help us out?
Thank You.

Linda, I understand that you are scared. Your husbands apnea is not going to go away. Every night you watch him stop breathing, but what your not seeing is what is really hurting him. Everytime he stops breathing it causes his oxygen level to drop and his co2 levels to rise. This drop in oxygen is slowy drowning his bodies organs of vital life energy. First he will began to have heart palpitations as it begins to work extra hard to pump what little oxygen he is getting to his body. This will give him high blood pressure causing even more damage. The lack of oxygen to the brain will eventually put him at risk for a stroke or siezure. On top of all this he is not getting the restoritive sleep he needs for his body to repair itself. By not going to the Dr. your husband is slowly killing himself and all the sleepless nights your getting are not going to help him, or you. The longer you wait the worse it gets.

I wasn't measured. The sleep tech went to a room off from the room we were in and came back with a mask and that is the one I used. No measuring, no trying on various masks, one mask was it.
