Mask suggestions for an active sleeper who is a mouth breather and has a pressure14/18.

I;ll finally meet my sleep doctor tommorow. So far i like some actions she has taken. She called me herslf to briefly tell me that I wouuld be getting yet another machine with different setting. We discussed a few things. She comfirmed that I was coming to an appointment with her.She also asked that some one bring both of my machines to her office Friday morning. At that time the pressure on my OLD machine was adjusted. The fancy one I received this summer was not. (thank goodness)

Then an RT I had in the past called me Friday to tell me that the doctor had also called to discuss my treatment with the RT. I didn't ask about that conversation since I was expecting the RT to bring my new machine today.and I thought we would discuss it then.

Well today a new RT showed up with my machine. The previous RT was off for the day. errgh. She had left no notes about thd doctors call. However she had filled out the order It did not state that I use a humidifier. So he had to make 2 trips. That all worked out fine since I met the new guy. I think he has a lot to offer and I have switched my account to him.

Now I am finally at the reason for this missive. My prressure has been changed from I think 5/9 to 14/18. When I used my old machine over the weekend, the one that had been adjusted I had some leaks with my mask but manged to stop them with ear plugs. Tonight with the new machine nothing would stop the leaks. I started with my Mirage Quattro which is probably a size too small. Where before rolld up ear plugs took cafe of leaks it sure didn't work tonite. I also tried my I think it is call Fit life full fave mask. It's the one that looks like Avatar,Thank didn' work at all. I am 4 days from being eligible for a new mask and I don't know what to hope for. As I said in the title. I roll from side to side, I am a mouth breather and I have a fairly high pressure. Most of the full face masks state that they are not for active sleepers. I can' use a chin stap since my underlying condition causes my to frequently get hot and sweat heavily. HELP

I should add that with th mask leaks and the fact that the breathing ppattern is irregular on th new machine I will be going to this first meeting having not slept at all tonite.
I use the FitLife Total Face Mask. I know you said it did not work for you. I had to make some modifications. I wear a knit cap over the crown of my head to take up some of the slack in the head straps and make it fit tighter without having to tighten the straps further than they were meant to tighten. Then I take a regular head sweatband and hook it under the bottom straps right behind the connections. It goes under my chin to keep the mask from riding up. So the knit cap keeps it centered on my face and the bottom strap keeps it from riding up. My machine has a mask fit feature where for three minutes it will work at the highest pressure so you can get the fit right. I have found I can also use the bead of silicone (ear plugs) around the edge for an enhanced fit. You might not be able to toss and turn as much as you would like, but I have found this to be the only mask that will work for me at a pressure of 25/22.
I have tried many masks and due to having poor skin had trouble findiing a FFM that did not cause breakddown of the skin on the bridge of my nose.
Good luck and keep us posted- this is a tough one. Oh, I had to work with a FitLife for awhile to get it to work, but had no choice due to the nose issues and the high pressures.
