I have the Res Med Swift LT for Her mask. When the DME representative brought my CPAP machine to teach me how to use it, he mentioned that there are 3 different size nasal pillows included with that mask. Can anyone explain to me how I can know which size is the appropriate one for me? In the hospital sleep center I had the same mask, but I have no idea what 'size' pillows, XS, S or M that the tech used for me. Is it just a matter of comfort?

Cheers

Go to your batroom mirror. put each one in your nose and suck in some air through your nose. The one that forms the best seal is the one that you want.
Comfort is key, as is leak prevention. The proper size pillow set is comfortable, & seals properly so that your CPAP device can inflate your airway to allow you to breathe. Remember that the seal site is on the skin at the end of your nostril, not inside the nostril. The edge each pillow should be visible outside the nostrils.

If you can comfortably keep a seal with whatever size pillow set is now attached, that may be the size for you. Feel free, though, to try all three. You're in charge. Make that thing your own!
The thing that I noticed right off was that the swift L.T.'s are silent, so if your not sure what size works for you....put it on, turn on the machine (MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED), Listen for any thing thet might sound like a leak. If you can hear it ......you might not have the right size. Repeat procedure until silence is observed. that should do it !! sleep well !
