Well, I am a spiteful ole broad. I would complain to my insurance company about the way your AutoSet was delivered, no instructions, no setup, etc. These brick & mortar DME suppliers will continue such practices as long as we allow them to. Insurance companies will begin to drop those local suppliers who provide lousy and inadequate service if we they are made aware of the problems we encounter.
WOW, the ResMed S8 Autoset II is WAY different than the Escape, not even the same experience at all! I noticed that the inhale was stronger --with a little "air puff" at the end of the inhale...sort of a weird sensation, but ok just the same. The exhale was WONDERFUL, I didn't feel like I was drowning...I could actually exhale! I slept all through the night like a baby with no problems at all. When I woke up this morning I actually felt like I had been "breathing"...you know what I mean? I could feel my lungs like I do when I work out and breathe deeply. And for the first time since I have had my xPAP I have ENERGY! I am not going to get my hopes up, because maybe this is a fluke. But I feel really rested and have energy. (yea!)
Plus a side benefit is that the machine is much quieter than the Escape and the lights on the machine go out at night, imagine that!
I am meeting with my doc in a few weeks, and I will be taking her the printouts from my new machine. :>D
I can't imagine what I would have done without this forum. Yes I can, I would have gotten frustrated, upset and given up.
So once again, thanks for basically saving my life.

You hand in there. I also suggest you call the homecare company ask for teh respiratory therapist to come out and go over the machine with you.
The issue may not be the company but the insurence company I am afraid to say. Some of the big companies no longer pay for the patient to have instructions. In fact the companies are penalized for a home visit.
They are required to give you instructions if you ask. So ask for a respiratory therapist.
