I have had good luck with a BiPap for two years; pressure of 20 in and 16 out. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating and feeling like I'd been hit by a truck aka Sleep Apnea. I checked my machine's results screen and it said my AHI was 9.8. How can that happen?

Hi Tom, Is your mask leakage high? Is the input filter to the machine ok? Did you eat a large meal late? If it happens tonight too cal your DME and ask for a pressure check to see if you have a malfunction.Good Sleep,Chris

Hi Chris

Thanks for your reply. My leakage runs between .95% and 1.4%. Last night was better with the AHI down to 2 but I'll keep a close eye on it and follow your advice if things go south again.

Best, Tom

Hi Tom, Are your numbers back to normal ? If I have been to an event and eaten too much my numbers get worse. Good Sleep,Chris

Hi Chris

I think part of the problem was that I had only been asleep a short while and the computational algorithms for the LCD readouts probably don't normalize until X amount of time has passed.

Best, Tom

Hi Tom , Ramp time is not calculated so yes you are correct. Good Sleep,Chris
