I have been suffering from extreme confusion, pain,I can't even fake function anymore, I do have severe sleep apnea, narcolepsy, cataplexy, and sleep paraylsis that I have suffered since childhood, of course everytime I would try to tell my parent or a doctor, they would look at me like I was nuts, which has done a number on me,I'll save that for another time, I have fibromyalgia, arthritis of neck, starting in fingers now, my neuro. doc is trying to rule out MS,. I was dx. with apnea 2 years ago when my doc for 20 yrs. decided to send me for the sleep study. I have not been compliant with my cpap because at times the straps and mask hurt my face and my nostrils so bad, nevn the top of my nose when I use the little Rudolfe mask, thats what I call it. I am so sick of this way that I feel, it's causing so many problems in my life, I can't work anymore,I am a nurse,I miss it, I know my husband doesn't like me anymore, my house looks like a tornado went thru it,I used to keep it spotless and was a good wife and mother, my boys are grown 31yrs and 29yrs good men,and a wonderful daughter-in-law, we are expecting our first baby- girl grandaughter any minute now, and I want to be able to help with the baby so bad,I need to feel better,it's hard for me to type from the pain numbness andpins and needles in my right arm and hand,I have to stop now. sorry for the rambleing on. thanks for listening, Lisa

Hi Jeff, thank-you for your words of encouragment, you made me laugh with your confusion answer, I completely understood it, scary, huh, since I can't seem to understand anything anymore, maybe our apnea brains understand one another, I don't know... I think I just confused myself...lol Lisa
If your mask isn't working for you, you should swap it out ASAP with a new mask. Also, I'd go with whatever the latest technology in masks is for starters, and then work from there. One of the most comfortable masks out on the market (and newest) is the ResMed Swift LT for Her. Tell your doctor you want to try this mask, and he'll write a prescription for it, and you can get it from any number of sources, including online. If that takes too long, just go online and buy it. I don't think you need a prescription for masks.
