I have successfully and happily been using the Respironics System One Auto-Adjusting CPAP.  Now I see that the ResMed S9 has come on the scene and it looks pretty exciting to me.  Also, some industry insiders are suggesting that I give it a try because of all the special innovations it contains.  My question is whether if I have something that's working for me, should I try the S9 because i might be able to do even better?  Or should I just not rock the boat....

Arghhh! You're just making it more confusing! (Just kidding!) I read a users vote over the two machines (CPAP versions) and the ResMed got outvoted. Of course, only 20 or so people took part. The points you make are worthy. Others gave ResMed the edge becuase of things like quietness, appearance, stuff like that. I guess it's ultimately up to me. I guess you've told me what I needed to hear. If it's only a few months then I'll wait. But a couple of years? Heck, no.

I was at a Apnea Support Group seminar last month here in the DC area. A ResMed rep showed the S9 to us. If I can find his card I'll give him a call and try to pin him down on a release date. But, you know, your advice might be best.
I have an M Series and was given an S8 to try but keep going back to my 1989 resmed Dinosaur.. it is always worth checking out the new guys equipment.
Wow, DW. Just shows to go you how different we all can be! Most everyone who had the "Legacy" series Respironics PAPs (the "tank") and an M Series preferred their "tank". So I never tried the M Series but I did buy a pre-M Series "tank" as a back up for my S8. I MUCH PREFERRED my S8!!

I would have loved being a CPAP-Tester and having the opportunity to try each manufacturer's CPAP. *sigh* That is the thing I HATE most about needing a bi-level. No way I can afford to buy different manufacturer bi-levels out of pocket. *sigh* Its a tuff life, guy. A tuff life.
