I am new to all of this, have been diagnosed with severe (AHI 49.7) complex sleep apnea.  After much delay I received a Respironics BiPAP autoSV Advanced machine, but the supplier sent me a different mask than had been used at the sleep disorder clinic.  The mask is too small (clinic had used a one size fit all mask) & supplier is sending a larger mask, yet to arrive.  The machine has heated humidification & I wonder if I should start with the humidification or try it without first.  Any thoughts will be appreciated.  Thanks.

I am NO expert.  But I feel it is personal preference whether to use the humidifier or not.  You can try at all settings and see which is most comfortable.  It will change as the humidity changes in your room  (I guess unless you have air conditioning) I usually leave mine on 1 or 2 and if I wake up feeling dried out I increase it.  A few nights it was more humid here so I turned it off.
Thanks, Ginny
