Even with my cpap, I usally have several deep apneas that I notice with my pulse oximeter.  One dropped down to an O2 saturation level of 73 last night.   Usually they drop down to about 80.  I am thinking that this can't be good.   With my sleep studies, I have not been able to get much sleep. I think I might be misdiagnosed.  My heavy snoring started at age 11 following a concussion, as did my epileptic seizures.  My guess is my apneas started then also.  I am also self diagnosing myself with having Cheney-Stokes respirations.  I suppose I should have another sleep study done and investigate getting bipap treatment.   Noah

Thanks Terry.  Loved traveling Europe with Australians in my youth.  Noah

Noah, I'm sure they will have professionals on hand to advise about the sleep meds and someone watching you all night. When you go, try to relax (easier said than done). What's more important is that you take two of each animal with you! Only joking, a bit of Australian Easter humour, I'm sure you get that one all the time, Happy Easter as it's Good Friday here and good luck with it.

Yes Mollete.  I am very careful.  I am epileptic and also have severe sleep apnea.  I don't drink alcohol, and am very careful about what kinds of medications I take.

What medications are you currently taking?

Also, please post the download of the oximetry.  If the real problem is you jumping around in bed, it could also be artifact.

Noah, as Molette suggested please post your oximetry data and a list of your meds.  First impressions aside,  Mollete is an excellent problem solver and diagnostician.  If you increased your pressure- that may be a bad thing- please wait for the doc to make any changes in your prescription.  Do you use the oximeter all night, every night and are the results- the desats- consistent from night to night?

I really don't know how to download it to this site.  But yes, I have wondered if it is some kind of artifact, though my heart rate goes up to about 110 or so during these apparent apnea episodes. I also don't think they are seizures, if they were grand mals I would lose control of my bladder.  I am on a very low dose of phenobarbitol--24 mgs. (That is about an 8 year old dosage. But I am very sensitive to drugs and  I have been seizure free that I know of for about 14 years on this level.) For many years I was on 180.  I don't use my pulse oximeter every night.  Sometimes I will use it for close to the entire week.  It will reveal that sometimes I don't have these apneas, and others times I do. I have tried many different kinds of epileptic meds and this phenobarbitol dosage seems to be the best--in terms of functionality and controlling my  seizures.  I do also know that it has depressive affects on my respiratory system and probably increases the number of apneas I have.  But without meds, I  do have seizures.   I do not take any other medications.

Which oximeter and software package are you using? Does it have an export function? If so attach it with the Upload Files button.

You can also use the Print Screen option (Control/PrntScr), paste it into an image manager (Paint, Irfanview, etc.), save it and upload it using the image button.
